Contra Dance In-Person

Get ready to kick off the July 4th weekend and kick up your heels at the library! Join us on Thursday, July 2 from 6-8 pm for a lively evening of Contra Dancing—a fun, high-energy social dance that’s been bringing communities together for generations. No experience? No problem! Contra dance is easy to learn and all about moving in lines with a partner (and your neighbors!) to the rhythm of upbeat folk music.

We’ll have a live band setting the pace and a friendly dance caller who will guide you through every step, so you can jump right in and enjoy the fun. Expect plenty of laughter, great music, and a welcoming atmosphere where everyone is invited to participate.

Come solo, with a partner, your family (kids welcome!) or bring a group of friends—just be ready to move, mingle, and have a great time. Comfortable shoes recommended! Festive red, white, and blue dance attire welcome!

Free and open to all ages. Register below so we know how many people are coming!
