Winter Story Walk along the Resilience Garden at Barrington Government Center In-Person
Enjoy a short, crisp walk near the Resilience Garden* at Barrington Government Center and read the beautiful winter story: Hiders Seekers Finders Keepers, written by Jessica Kulekjian and illustrated by Salini Perera. Hiders Seekers is a poetic exploration of how varied animals prepare for the challenges of winter. Beautiful illustrations capture the stillness of the season while hibernation facts are immersed throughout each page.
The Story Walk along the Resilience Garden at Barrington Government Center is funded by a grant from the Office of Library and Information Services (OLIS).
*The Barrington Government Center Resilience Garden is an educational garden located along the walkways found between the library building and County Road. The garden is designed to be resilient to the effects of climate change that include at various times hotter, drier, and wetter conditions. It contains a variety of hardy, native, and locally sourced plants that require less watering, weeding, pesticides, and fertilizers than more traditional gardens. The garden functions as a community resource to help and encourage residents to create simple and affordable resilience gardens of their own.
