Soul Force 2026: A Celebration of Civil Rights and MLK Day In-Person
The Barrington Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, in a partnership with the Barrington Public Library and the Peck Center present: Soul Force 2026: A Celebration of Civil Rights and MLK Day, a free, family-friendly event honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The second annual event will take place Saturday, January 17 from 12-4 pm on the second floor of Barrington Public Library and in the Peck Center (ground floor of the library).
This uplifting, multi-generational event features live music, storytelling, food trucks, voices of our senior residents, and a student art competition — all aimed at bringing us together to celebrate Dr. King’s vision of justice, equity, and inclusion.
Student art submissions are evaluated on creativity, relevance to the theme, and overall impact. Prizes are awarded and all artwork is displayed at the event for the entire community to enjoy. Mark your calendars and bring your family and friends! Soul Force 2026 is free, open to the public, organized for the purpose of welcoming all members of our community to share our stories, learn from each other, and enjoy great music and food.
Note: please bring a non-perishable item for Tapin!
