Be Your Best Self as You Step Into the Second Half of Your Life Night 1: Connectivity Promotes Longevity In-Person

Join Dr. Lisa Cowley and Victor Westgate for a 5-part workshop series geared toward helping you on your life’s journey. This series will be on Thursday nights at 6:30 pm from September 5 - October 3 in the Collis Family Gallery. Full series dates below. Registering for one class will automatically register you for all the classes, however, patrons are welcome to attend one or all the nights.

Night 1: Connectivity Promotes Longevity

In our first workshop, we invite you to get out of your comfort zone. We want to give you the opportunity to examine who you are, who you have been, and who you want to be. Research tells us that having a social network is the most important factor in promoting longevity.

Free and open to adults. Registration required.

Complete Series:

  • Sept. 5: Connectivity Promotes Longevity
  • Sept. 12: Sense of Purpose
  • Sept. 19: Moving the Clock Forward Without Fear: Thoughts Affect Your Reality
  • Sept. 26: How to Be Your Own Wellness Coach
  • Oct. 3: Where You Live Contributes to Longevity

About the Facilitators

Dr. Lisa Cowley and Victor Westgate are the sole proprietors of Joy in Aging, a speaking engagement organization that works with individuals to rediscover their life’s purpose. Dr. Lisa is a retired holistic chiropractor of 23 years. She provided hands-on care & individualized health programs for thousands of patients. Victor spent 34 years as an educator, teaching American history and government before retiring. In their second act, Dr. Lisa and Victor started a niche farm growing shiitake mushrooms and culinary herbs in upstate New York; during the off seasons, they crisscrossed the United States from Maine to California, traveling more than 30,000 miles interviewing women and men from the ages of fifty to seventy-five. They incorporated their findings from these interviews along with research about purpose and wellness into Pack Lightly: Making Sense of the Second Half of Your Life.
