Bike Safety & Repair Day in Police Cove Park!

Bike Safety & Repair Day in Police Cove Park! In-Person

Let's try this again! Join us in Police Cove Park on Saturday, June 10 from 10 am - 1 pm for a family-friendly Bike Safety & Repair Day!

Have some fun in the sun and learn some bike safety tips from the pros including how to properly fit and wear your helmet, how to ride your bike safely in all situations, the importance of hand signals, and more! We will have some instructors and experts on site to help kids learn basic bike repairs and how to keep their bikes maintained and working properly.

The Barrington Lions Club will be giving away (and properly sizing/fitting) bike helmets for kids (while supplies last) and we will have plenty of other fun prizes and bike safety educational materials.

Once you have a handle on bike safety, take a spin around our bike obstacle course where you can practice maneuvers, avoiding rocks and other hazards, hand signals, and stopping and braking. The Barrington Police will be on-site to answer any safety questions and to educate kids on the rules of the road.

We will even have an ice cream truck for a cool treat after all that riding!

All are welcome to come and families are encouraged to ride their bikes if possible. Police Cove Park is located on County Road right on the East Bay Bike Path. Limited on-site parking is available.

No pre-registration is required. All giveaways and prizes are first-come, first-served.

This event is co-sponsored by Barrington Public Library, The Barrington Lions Club, and The Barrington Police Department and is generously supported by Washington Trust Bank.
